I see an average amateur above and I want to share why has decided to buy the T1i. I know that the concept of balance white, Aperture, speed and measurement, and I has experimented with them in my camera Point & Shoot (Canon G2).
My budget is in the range of $ 800-1000 dollars and reduce your selections of Canon and Nikon D5000/D90 PENTAX K20D T1i. I wasn ‘ t too worried to who has the best image quality. I had the impression that all 4 cameras (should) produce excellent results for most cases.
I are a big fan of technology and are willing to spend money to get the latest technology I (as well as… long as it my budget). In other words if I will confine myself to quality of the image I was with the Nikon D40/D600 or Canon XSi.
Had based my decision on professional feedback, dpreview.com and similar.
PENTAX K20D has body and the body of the closure time image stabilization, but they is not features essential for me. It of reported having slow focus, which is a switch of agreement.
Nikon D5000 is the same D90, which has better sensor CMOS DxOMark (dynamic range better, better conditions of low light ISO) compared to 50 D Canon, Canon T1i sensor. But simply the 2.7-inch/230-kpixel, not to mention 0.68 LCD Viewer extension x (compare x to T1i 0.87).
warned the camera buyers: only ‘ t use LCD to focus, too slow it. D5000 rotating LCD is a sale of difficult for me.
Nikon D90 has better sensor and pentaprism Viewer. You can acquire more frames per second (4.5 comparison between T1i and 3.4). Also has more FA (11 vs 9 T1i) area. Mainly point one-off activation, multiple points of focus is not useful for me. I program experiment with RAW and Nikon Capture charges extra for their RAW converter software (RRP $ 180 NX2).
For $ 799 (only in the body), I think that T1i provides the best and latest technology camera money:
LCD 3 inches 920-kpixel, fast approach, latest RAW, DIGIC4 converter software, free HDMI. 1080p/720 p video is a bonus.
I are not madness 15-Mpix, but now taking pictures, I ‘ t worry much about the zoom on my theme
knowing you can crop the image later.
Once again, all 4 cameras take great shots. It s features quality of the image that I bought in T1i.
Prepare have a steep learning curve
in blanco-equilibrio, metering, ISO, etc. Don ‘ t expect a camera 900 dollars to give excellent image never
in pieno-auto. You must learn to use it. AH and achieve the objective of 100 $ 50 mm f/1.8, you won ‘ t feel.

When I first heard a 21 megapixel camera would reasonably priced (ie. not a ridiculous price as $ 12,000.00) I couldn ‘ t wait to buy it. My previous camera was that had problems two EOS camera under-exposure and suddenly died a year after the guarantee of the cinema. I 5DII EOS three months ago had and has recently about 300 images of garden and landscape on a trip to Japan with a zoom 28-70 mm I had to work quickly, because many of the sites we visited were very busy. The only 21 megapixels this heritage House – able to magnify and and and continue with only a little full resolution approach is really something in ECCO. However, as my two, this Parliament isn ‘ perfect t and I had to fight for my shots exposed correctly and focus.
Other people have said their exposures 5DII are perfect growing but mine gave inconsistent exposure in almost every shot took and seemed to favour overexposure to minors. If you had used a tripod I could use live view mode and tried to shoot – exposure feature simulation but work next time hand te I autobracket. None of the route of exposure (Evaluative, partial, spots or Center weighted metering) seemed to help in my search for the correct exposure in a shooting. Each photo should be taken again at least three times to get the right exposure. I almost always had meters from the brightest part of the scene because of the tendency of light meter over-expose, but with some scenes that were also parties bright light and closed up exposed below.
The only disadvantage of using 21 megapixel is putting focus automatically I realized problems. All my lenses were pointing forward or backward (at least when viewed at full resolution). Even if you can solve this problem with the function of microadjustment AF dedicated as f1.4 50 mm lens that does not work consistently in the range of a zoom lens (eg. you can get perfect for shooting wide angle, but external focus in the half to tomas T). If you like peeping pixels, want to put super-sharp focus and have time, it would be advisable to use this Parliament with a tripod, set the screen view and approach to living manually full resolution mode because automated approach is not consistent in high resolution.
Another problem emerged from 21 Megapixels is the movement of the camera. In my case, I found this particular to use auto-ISO with Aperture priority. Many of my shots of hand zoom low light 28-70 mm have been blurry at full resolution in the minimum shutter chosen by the ISO speed car. Auto-ISO constantly choose shutter speed that is a little too slow for the focal distance used in my opinion (ie. for my 28-70, f2.8 zoom collection auto-ISO 1/70 second shutter speed when the goal has been extended to 70 mm). I still have the camera moves and blurry despite this theory says that shouldn ‘ t happen if the shutter speed is the focal length of the lens. I believe that the Canon need to update automatico-ISO in their top it Megapixel cameras chooses a slightly higher shutter speeds. I know that many of the photographers landscape will be very critical of the car-ISO but while travelling at my thought that this was a good characteristic used to save time, were often taking pictures in closed environments and lighting conditions different and this feature would have been helpful – I imagine wedding photographers be too concerned.
I believe that digital cameras are subject to a rapid development at the moment – on the one hand we compact models and the new “bridge” meter of cameras and af directly from the sensor and we have old drawings and models that use a mirror to reflect the image to separate the auto focus framing marks of chip and exposure – one who worked in the days of the af cameras raw film SLR, but it seems obsolete and ill-prepared to handle the new high resolutions in the tender design. ” “This is the reason why Canon and others have added live as view compensation but still has a way to go, I think.”
However, I believe that I have no problems to get from my money here in the coming years.
* As an update of this review – I took my 5DII for my local service of Canon Centre where sent if the meter should occur. Returned recalibrated and now is properly expose I from this that are much happier with him now.
